I’ve been busy ever since the concert and never really got around to tumblr, at all. For anyone who’s interested, now I’ll be telling of what was the best day of my life - last Wednesday.
My brother and I saw Green Day for the first time in our lives. We were so lucky that it was only twenty minutes outside from where we lived. When we got there, we didn’t expect to see half as many people there all ready, wrapped around the entire building. Seriously, the end of the line seemed to never end! But we made it there, safe and sound. Waited maybe a little under an hour outside until they started letting every one in. The lines separated from the floor to seating - my brother and I were on the second row of seating, right above the people who were on the ground. Everything seemed kind of sudden until we actually got inside.
The first thing we did was get ourselves some merch (: After that, we saw where our seats were and figured we’d get something to eat now that we were settled in. We got some crabfries and a soda. Those crabfries were DELICIOUS! The opening band started playing shortly after, and even though I can’t recall the name, I enjoyed them. As we waited after the opening band for Green Day, we got to know some nice people around us. All different ages, but all there for the same reason <3. All of a sudden, Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” came on and everyone put their lighters on and sang along - it was awesome. Then it got quiet, and the lights faded - my heart started racing! The Ramones came on! With of course, Blitzkrieg Bop. It was so cool, since Green Day is very inspired and influenced by The Ramones! A few seconds after the song started, the pink drunken bunny came on stage drinking and everyone went nuts. It was hysterical.
Then the show began. And it all really happened so fast! :D I admit, I got a bit teary eyed, it was such an impact. Right then and there, the guys who I’ve looked up to for the past nine years ran onto stage: Billie, Tre and Mike. They opened with 99 Revolutions. The whole night I sang my heart out and danced around. A fat old guy with a Santa hat got called onto stage then crowd surfed back into the pit. A young guy and girl got called on to sing along to Longview, and then a little girl came onto the stage. I was so happy for all of those people, to be on stage with Green Day - dear lord. They started requesting songs which was awesome, because they ended up playing J.A.R. and Going to Pasalacqua! Aka me having a mini heart attack. Tre freaking sang Dominated Love Slave and All By Myself. However, the absolute best part of the night was when they finished their last song, and everyone started walking out, but then all of the sudden turned around and ran like bats out of a cave back into the concert because Billie came out and played Good Riddance (Time of Your Life); people were climbing over chairs, standing wherever the hell they wanted, because it didn’t matter! All that mattered was that we were all there, together, watching Green Day. And that is what I think a Green Day concert is all about; all in all, I lost my voice at the end of the night, and partially my hearing. It was all worth it and I would do it ALL over again.
I got to experience my hero’s, the three men who have always let me know, through them and their music, that it doesn’t matter what anyone thinks of you except yourself, and if anyone tells you otherwise - f*ck them. I can’t wait to look back ten years from now on that day. The best day of my entire life.
Oh yeah and Billie Joe forgot his own lyrics to Holiday. <3
My mind’s exploding. nfdsobfigbfdbgifdbgovfidsb see ya freaks later.
